Media Analysis:
- Look through the chapter of the textbook assigned to you. Then, find a news article that relates to one or more of the concepts discussed in the chapter. Try sources such as: The Economist, The Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal, or the business section of other newspapers.
- Write a 3-4 page (750 -1000 word) essay that (1) briefly describes the example, (2) explains how it relates to the concepts from the textbook, and (3) adds some of your own analysis and insights. Do not repeat examples discussed in class unless your article includes significant additional information that we did not cover.
- Some topics you may want to address include (but are not limited to):
• Does this news item support or challenge a theory, concept, empirical trend or perspective presented
in the textbook?
• What do you think will happen in the future related to this topic and why?
• Has this news item changed your perspective on the topic and why?
• What additional information would you like to know about this topic and why?
• How does this topic relate to other things you have learned, read or experienced?
