Identify and Analyze a District’s Strategic Plan (or Compare/Contrast 2 or More) Assignment: Please identify and submit a 1.5 pp maximum analysis of a school district’s strategic plan (or compare/contrast 2 or more). Please also reflect upon the basic purpose of a strategic plan, and how it might connect to policy and practice.
Suggestions for finding strategic plans –

*Perhaps go to websites of organizations of special interest to you
It may be helpful to think through and address the following:
Look at the contents of the strategic plan and think about –
Is info provided regarding how the strategic plan was developed? If yes, who was involved and what was the process?
what is being addressed, and what is being left out?
Is there anything you know about this [district/university] that helps you to understand this plan – i.e., why they are focusing on particular ideas and not on others?
In your view, will the goals/plans be easy or difficult to implement? Why? Does it seem realistic? Does it seem specific enough?
Does the plan get to the level of describing strategies or procedures for moving from goals/strategies to the level of implementation? Does the plan describe ways that progress will be monitored or evaluated?
2 – Reflect on the purposes of a strategic plan generally, and reflect on whether (and how) you think this particular plan might affect the district and community going forward.
