In this assignment, you will create a PowerPoint presentation on the subject of legal rights as they pertain to the use of electronic devices. Using electronic devices is an everyday task for millions of Americans of all ages, and will only continue to grow in popularity and necessity. With the rapidly increasing use of the Internet, text messaging, e-mails, and social media tools, legal rights around privacy and seizure will continue to be defined and refined. This new technology is also used by law enforcement in many ways, including combating the threat of terrorism, drug trafficking, human trafficking, and sex crimes. Your presentation will focus on the area of legal rights as they pertain to the use of electronic devices by law enforcement to combat criminal activity, and the effect this has on the legal protections pertaining to effective counsel, right to jury, self-incrimination, and the right to a fair and swift process along with many others. You may focus specifically on one type of criminal activity or you may choose to cover several topics.

Instructions

Create a 15-slide PowerPoint presentation using the following guidelines:
Slides 1-6: An overview of the topic including at least three to four bullet points on each slide. You should rely on content from your text book and independent research for this section; be sure to include key terms and concepts.
Slides 6-11: Real-world scenarios (2-3) applicable to the topic (e.g., a case study, an event, an interview). Be creative and use photos! You’ll need to do online research to complete this task.
Slide 12-13: Your opinions and comments.
Slide 14-15: Develop three to four discussion questions regarding the topic that you feel are relevant and interesting.
Your presentation should include a title slide (not considered in the 15 slide requirement), make connections to concepts in your textbook, connect to real-world examples, be accurate, and demonstrate your ability to cite references (include a “References” slide at the completion of the presentation using APA format).
