This is a region where the relationship between the physical geography and geographies of settlement and culture are integrally related, but have also been significantly influenced by colonizers. This is also a region that is vulnerable to natural hazards such as earthquakes and volcanoes.

Write a minimum 5-paragraph essay that gives evidence of colonization in terms of language, religion, and patterns of settlement that might differ from where the pre-Columbian populations settled.
