listen to seven short clips of music. Of these seven clips, you will pick FIVE to write about. You can listen to each clip as many times as you wish. For each of the five pieces you choose, listen to each one carefully, making notes of what you hear.
For each of the five pieces you choose, use correct jazz terminology as you describe the piece in as much detail as you can. Include information about band size, instrumentation, style and form. Relate the piece to the era in which it might have been written and give your reasons for that decision. If possible identify the performer or band and the name of the piece. (This may not be possible in all pieces, and credit will not be deducted if you can’t).
