Jack Abramoff and Campaign Financing

Watch the Moyers on America special Capitol Crimes on issues of campaign financing and the activities of former lobbyist Jack Abramoff. (http://www.pbs.org/moyers/moyersonamerica/capitol/index.html) Write a 300-word response to the following questions: What does the power of lobbyists like Abramoff suggest to you about the way our political systems works? Do you think Abramoff is typical of how lobbying work or does represent an abuse of power? How does the power of lobbyists affect the principle that in a representative democracy each person should be politically equal? Do you see solutions that would enhance our political equality? By the way, Abramoff has recently been released from prison after a fairly brief prison sentence.
