Sample Answer
The items that I frequently use that have the greatest negative impact on the environment are:
- Food: The production of food is a major contributor to climate change, deforestation, and water pollution. For example, the production of meat requires a lot of land, water, and energy. It also produces greenhouse gases, methane, and nitrous oxide.
- Transportation: Driving is a major source of air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. Air pollution can cause respiratory problems, heart disease, and cancer. Greenhouse gas emissions contribute to climate change.
- Electronics: The production and disposal of electronics is a major source of electronic waste (e-waste). E-waste can contain hazardous materials such as lead, mercury, and cadmium. These materials can pollute the environment and harm human health.
