Invasion of Western Europe

How did the invasion of Western Europe (France, Belgium, the Netherlands etc) differ from the invasion of
Eastern Europe? Think about differences in the way in which people were treated, as well as differences in the interactions between Germany and the governments of these countries. Did the Nazis believe that Western Europeans were racially different to Eastern Europeans?
