In this web research and writing assignment, you will research whether particular types of physical and mental
problems are covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and argue whether courts have
appropriately interpreted the ADA as it relates to those physical and mental problems.
Deliverables:
A 150-word (2-3 paragraph) paper
Step 1: Perform Internet research.
Through Internet research, find and list three examples of physical or mental problems covered by the
American with Disabilities Act (ADA), and three examples of physical or mental problems not covered by the
ADA.
Step 2: Write a summary of your findings.
Also, briefly argue either that the ADA has been appropriately interpreted and applied by the courts (in terms of
the types of disabilities covered), or that it has not (for example, that it has been overly interpreted and applied
to too many types of physical and mental maladies).
