Order Description

Essay Requirements:
Read the complete chapter by Robert M. Baum on “Indigenous Religions” from your A Concise Introduction to World Religions textbook (pp.28-79) and write a short essay of not more than 6 pages (minimum 5 pages) only about “Indigenous Responses to European Colonialism” starting from page 65. Since the essay is short, you should choose to write either indigenous responses in Africa (pp. 65-69) OR indigenous response in The Americas (pp.70-72). So although your real essay starts only from page 65 but you should write your essay only after you have finished reading and understanding the whole article (pp.28-79).
Your essay should show three sub-titles; Introduction, Indigenous Response, and Conclusion.
(a) Under your sub-title, Introduction, introduce the article (about 1 page) by briefly describing what the whole article is about
(b) Under your sub-title Indigenous Response, discuss the indigenous response (about 4 or 5 pages) either in Africa (article pp. 65-69), or The Americas (article pp. 70-72); but not both, and
(c) Under your sub-title Conclusion (about 1 page), write your own conclusions giving comparison of the indigenous responses to European colonialism you found in both these two regions. Was the response similar in both the regions? If not, what were the different responses?
You should write this essay under three sub-titles:
Introduction (what the whole article is about)
Indigenous response (in the area you chose); and
Conclusion (comparative conclusion of the response in both these areas)
Your essay should not exceed 6 pages using your textbook as the primary source and two additional outside sources. Internet citations are acceptable for this essay
