This assignment has to be a Thesis-Essay. Similar to previous assignments, you will address how the text's
formal elements (such as imagery, meter, repetition, rhyme, and figurative language) affect the meaning of the
work; but time time, you must also address how these formal elements, together with literary themes and
narrative structure, employ or disrupt generic conventions. Example: Situating your analysis of the formal
elements of the text within the context of the genre to which the text belongs. What are the fundamental
characteristics of the genre that the text represents? How does the text's content and/or form expand,
challenge, or align with generic expectations, and why is this significant to understanding the meaning of the
