II. Organizations look into job-fit in order to hire appropriate employees into specific job fields. (1- Pages)
A. There are three suggested steps to achieving job fit in an organization; “Identify top performers,
benchmark top performance, and evaluate candidates relative to these benchmarks.” (Muno, Debbie)
- Once an organization achieves job fit in the workplace, productivity and job satisfaction skyrockets. If an
employee is a superstar at a position, then the organization has found a job-fit understanding and that
employee should then be cultivated and readied for the next step in the company. - Identifying top performers in an organization is crucial, these are the employees that are in a job field that
fits them. This also shows the employees that should be promoted to the next level, in order to keep them
motivated and feeling like the job field they are in is a perfect fit. - When top performance employees are identified, assessing what common traits they possess is important
to determining what type of people need to be hired into the specific job field. - Taking all of the previous understanding of top performers and putting these understandings into the hiring
of new candidates for specific jobs fields will help determine job fit and reduce turnover.
