• This HW assignment asks you to write about a motivation technique used in the workplace. Motivation is defined in the textbook as an internal state that induces a person to engage in particular behaviors.
• Here are the specific instructions: Find an example of how companies motivate their employees. This can be from your own work experience, the experience of someone you know, or something you found on the internet. Explain this approach and how it relates to one or more of the theories in this chapter.
• Lastly, decide which of the 10 motivation theories in the table can be classified together on the Basis for motivation. So, take a look at the table and each theory’s “Basis for Motivation”. Then indicate whether it can be grouped with another theory on the basis for motivation into one group. For instance, Reinforcement theory and Expectancy theory both involve rewards and desired outcomes and can be grouped together on their having a similar basis for motivation.
