I can discuss two sexual dysfunctions that I think would be the most difficult to deal with.

• Erectile dysfunction (ED): ED is the inability to get or maintain an erection firm enough for sexual intercourse. It is a common problem that affects an estimated 30 million men in the United States. There are many causes of ED, including physical problems such as vascular disease, diabetes, and prostate cancer, as well as psychological problems such as anxiety and depression.
• Female sexual arousal disorder (FSAD): FSAD is the inability to feel sexual arousal or to maintain arousal to the point of orgasm. It is a less common problem than ED, but it can be just as devastating to a woman’s sexual life. The causes of FSAD are similar to those of ED, and they can also include medications, medical conditions, and psychological factors.
