Hemagglutin produces high virulence in the 1918 Pandemic Virus

Hypothesis
It was hypothesized that the 1918 Influenza Virus Hemagglutinin protein gave the virus a higher replication rate, the higher replication rate resulted in higher virus in the upper respiratory that allow for the spread of the virus through sneezing and coughing and suggest that the binding specificity to receptors in these locations play a crucial role in the viral spread from person to person.
