Helping less developing countries grow

In some of the poorer countries of the world, fifty dollars would be sufficient for individuals to start a business and begin to elevate themselves out of poverty and to change their lives for the better. We take opportunity for granted in the United States; however, opportunities are relatively scarce in poor countries. In many parts of the world, people do not have the opportunities that are afforded to those in the U.S.

Does that make the United States a socialist country? What evidence have you seen that the world is moving toward having mixed economies?
