Marking breakdown Part one of the report should be written as a group, and all students will submit the same work for this section only. A group mark will be awarded for part 1. This is worth 30% of the overall mark on the report. Part two is based on individual reflection and analysis. Each student will write up their own evaluation, reflection, and analysis. An Individual mark will be awarded for part 2. This is worth 70% of the overall mark on the report. Both parts of the report should follow Harvard referencing guidelines, and follow standard conventions for academic writing and presentation. These criteria will contribute to grades awarded. ONLY ONE SUBMISSION PER GROUP IS REQUIRED. Each submission must have A TITLE PAGE WITH THE ALLOCATED GROUP NUMBER. Part 2 Each individual student must submit part 2, to the Turnitin submission point named REPORT PART 2. Your submission MUST HAVE A TITLE PAGE THAT INCLUDES YOUR GROUP NUMBER so that the group mark can be matched to your final overall grade. It is your responsibility to make sure that you submit your work to the right submission point. There will be no exceptions made if you submit your work incorrectly. Report in detail The section below highlights in more detail what the report entails, please read carefully. You will also need to attend lectures and seminars to gain a complete understanding of the assessment task. Title Page (PART 1) The title should be specific; it should convey the subject matter in approx. 20 words. Broad titles such as ‘Health Promotion Report’ are not useful. Other key details on the title page are: module code and group number Introduction Aims and Objectives (PART 1) The introduction should orientate the reader to the topic and also signpost the reader to other sections of the report. The aim should be stated concisely, you will need to present one aim. The objectives need to be carefully considered, you will present 3S.M.A.R.T. objectives; this should state what you expect the respondents to know after the intervention. The aims and objectives should be presented in bullet-point format. Lecture Notes: WEEK 8 Rationale (PART 1) The rationale needs to provide an answer to the questions: ‘why have you chosen this particular health issue and target group?’ ‘Why is this health issue important and in need of addressing? What other interventions have been used to tackle this health problem? Were they successful? Why or why not? The rationale needs to be literature-based and make reference to include at least 4 peer-reviewed journal articles Lecture Notes: WEEK 3,5,6,7,8 Discussion of your intervention (PART 1) You will need to outline what you did in your intervention. How did you make it appeal to your target group? What strategies did you use to educate? What strategies did you use to capture attention of your target audience? (i.e. – photos, videos, discussion forums, info) Why? Decisions should be supported with literature. This should demonstrate how you attempted to achieve your objectives. You must provide a WORKING link to your intervention webpage, or marks will be deducted. You may also provide examples of the materials you used in your appendix. Lecture Notes: WEEK 9 Evaluation (PART 2) For your evaluation you will need to make sure a minimum of 20 people have seen your page and completed your evaluation questionnaire. Time will be given in week 13 in computer labs on campus for students to do this from our module. Your discussion should explore the following four domains: ? Exposure ? Engagement ? Influence ? Results The details of how to assess these domains can be found at the following link: http://www.samhsa.gov/capt/tools-learning-resources/evaluating-social-media-efforts This will be further discussed during the lecture in week 11. The evaluation will included details of how and what you evaluated. Following on from this, you should present your evaluation findings. This section should include clear tabular and graphical representations of your findings. Each objective should be discussed and supported by graphs or tables. It is okay to be honest about the impact of your intervention, for example, you may state that the objectives were not achieved, however, you do need to make clear what improvements would need to be made in the future. You may also need to comment on how working as a team impacted the intervention. However, this should be brief. Lecture Notes: WEEK 11 Critical discussion of health promotion approaches This section requires you to present a critical discussion of the approach you have used. (i.e social media campaigns for health, Health education approach). You need to discuss the limitations of social media approaches to health education, and consider what other approach could have been used in a campaign for this health issue (i.e – community development; individual empowerment, etc). This section should be based on literature; the reading list is a good place to start. Recommendations for what you would do differently should be discussed. Lecture Notes: WEEK 5 and 6 Conclusion The conclusion needs to summarise the overall outcomes of the intervention, and link back to your rationale and existing literature. Reference List It is very important that your report is underpinned with relevant literature; all citations should be presented in Harvard style. Appendices The appendices do not count towards the word limit. You may want to include the following: - Evaluation tools used (e.g. sample questionnaire) - Resources used during the intervention (e.g. screen shots of facebook pages, etc.) Report presentation A report is presented differently to an academic essay; you will need to use headings and subheadings (where relevant). You are expected to present the report in line with standard academic expectations -i.e. title page, contents page, a clear structure (e.g. introduction and signposts for the reader etc.) which is properly presented (i.e. good use of English, spelling, punctuation, spacing, collated) in order to demonstrate your ability to organise your work. It also includes the level of written expression using the appropriate academic tone and avoiding slang and inaccuracies. You should write in plain English avoiding unnecessary jargon or lists.
