Please write a 350-750 word paper analyzing one of the poems we covered in our class
this semester. You may analyze the poem you wrote about in the poetry analysis
assignment.
On our Canvas course page under the topic for this assignment, I have included a couple
of links from academic websites on how to analyze and to write about poetry and a
brainstorming and planning sheet for this assignment. Please consult them early in the
process before you start writing your exam response. They are meant to be helpful to you.
To analyze the poem, you must use specific details from the poem to argue a point about
it. This point or argument is your thesis statement, which must be evident in your
introduction paragraph. Your introduction paragraph also should include the name of the
poem and the name of the author.
