Concept: The food industry always tries to innovate food products and food categories in order to meet current and (projected) future consumer wants, needs, and demands. However, sometimes a new food article or modifications made on an existing food category can come into conflict with existing label/labeling regulations. The change(s) made to the label/labeling requirements by the regulatory agencies can take long periods while the food industry is ready to “launch” a new food article or food category that conflicts with the requirements and regulations.
