Each student is expected to research and write an essay that is 6 to 8 pages in length (excluding References List and cover/title page). 40% of your final grade will be based in this assignment. The essay will be written in standard English, contain a bibliography of at least 8 academic sources, conform to all standard conventions of academic writing, follow the APA citation format, and contain proper formatting (including standard margins, double-spaced paragraphs, and either 11-pt Calibri or 12-pt Times New Roman font).). Students will develop their own topic that relates to this course’s engagement of the media industries. The essay must argue a position, be theoretically informed, logically organized, and have a thesis guiding the analyses and arguments posed.
