Select one of the following film theorists discussed in Elsaesser & Hagener’s book and discuss their
importance to cinema history and theory. Possible theorists include Andre Bazin, Slavoj Zizek, Laura Mulvey, Vivian Sobchack, Gilles Deleuze.

P. 116) Reflecting on your own embodied engagement with a selection of contemporary films, discuss the
senses of skin, touch and/or ear in contemporary cinema experiences.
Elsaesser & Hagener say “a film has many more points of entry than merely the screen on which the
diegetic world unfolds.” (41) Select one of the films screened in this subject and discuss the multiple points of entry into this film. Refer to Elsaesser & Hageners’ chapter 2 on ‘Cinema as Door’.
