Film analyzing
Final Project is a written report in which you will need to analyze a film (or parts of the film), applying what you
have learnt from communication theories. Each project must relate specifically to at least three different
theories.
Main components of the Final Project
A. Selection. Your first task is to find a film that shows a significant social, cultural, political, interpersonal, etc.,
problem. Although the film doesn’t have to be one of the best or classics, find something that is generally
recognized as a good and substantial movie. Here are some examples: Good Will Hunting, Annie Hall, 12
Angry Men, Casablanca, No Country for Old Men, Volver, Nebraska, The Color Purple, Amistad, Billy Elliot,
Amarcord, 12 Years a Slave, Roma, Sideways, and many others….
Once you have the specific film, you will have to find the key issue (or issues) that you want to use for the
paper. You may select a specific relationship between two characters in the movie or see a person or group
person navigating organizations, group relationships, or political environment.
