Factorial Design

Given the following IV’s (Factors) and DV, address the items below.
IV/Factor 1: College. Levels = Lehman, Queens
IV/Factor 2: Athlete. Levels = yes, no
DV: # of credits completed after 2 years

  1. What type of design is it? Be as descriptive as possible.
  2. List the 3 effects that could be assessed
  3. Make up some results (you can do that! Just make up 4 numbers!) and then assess which of the effects appear to be present (based of course on those results you made up). Do it like we did in class: Put ‘yes’ or ‘no’ next to each of the 3 effects you listed above.
    a. You may want to start by creating a table like the ones we looked at in class, but that’s up to you. In either case, you need to also make a graph of the results. Note a bar graph is most appropriate for this type of study, but do line graph if you prefer. Or both!
