Environmental policy proposals for the future
In December 2015 the Obama Administration and the U.S. delegation to the Paris COP 21 Climate Change
Conference agreed to commit the U.S. and other nations to a series of actions on climate to reduce man-made carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Since then President Trump
announced on June 1, 2017, his intentions to withdraw the U.S. from the agreement, which was formally
finalized last November.
Considering the global and national challenges of managing society’s wastes, physical, liquid, and gaseous,
and their implications for the earth, its biosphere, and future generations, what in fact should be the nation’s way forward for the environment? In other words what public policies should be adopted to address environmental protection in this country over the short, medium, and long term future? Please consider the six basic questions (who, what, why, when, where, how) as you explain your environmental policy proposals.
