Sample Answer
The criminal justice system can ensure fair and equal treatment for all in a number of ways, including:
- Ensuring that everyone has access to legal representation, regardless of their ability to pay. This is important because it helps to ensure that everyone has a fair chance to defend themselves against the charges against them.
- Providing unbiased and impartial judges and juries. This is important because it helps to ensure that everyone is treated fairly and that their case is decided based on the evidence, not on personal biases.
- Using fair and transparent procedures throughout the criminal justice process. This includes things like ensuring that people are informed of their rights, that they are not coerced into giving statements, and that they have the opportunity to appeal their convictions.
