Electronic Documentation
As technology has progressed, all organizations are implementing electronic documentation and computerized healthcare systems. Electronic documentation tools offer several features that are designed to increase both the quality and the utility of clinical documentation and enhancing communication between all healthcare providers. These features address well-known requirements for documentation principles while supporting improved workflow processes. However, using these features outside of the documentation guidelines may create information integrity concerns such as invalid auto-population of data fields and manufactured documentation aimed to enhance reimbursement.
For this discussion:
Describe why you do or do not believe the use of electronic documentation tools increases the risk of fraudulent documentation.
Describe what you believe to be the limitations and benefits of electronic documentation for hospital records.
In addition, please provide 2 biblical examples of how adaptation and implementation of EMR’s can be compared to wavering faith in God.
