Throughout the semester we will come across various Earth Processes that are hazardous to life and property. By the end of the semester, you will choose one type of Hazard and choose a specific example of the hazard affecting people. You will write up a paper on the event and discuss the hazard and the impacts.
First, choose a natural hazard type
Examples: River Flooding, Volcanic Eruptions, Earthquake Hazards, Tsunami, Landslides, Hurricane Landfalls.
Include a detailed breakdown of the hazard including but not limited to how it occurs, places prone of the hazard, hazards associated with the natural process.
Second, choose a historical example of the hazard
The more recent, the better because it will have more information. (Not too recent though.) The sweet spot would be 1+ years ago.
