Discussing the Role of Race in Shakespeare's Othello
Discussing the Role of Race in Shakespeare's Othello
Order Description
The essay is to discuss three things:
1.) The role that race plays in Shakespeare's portrayal of Othello.
2.) How the other characters react to Othello's skin color/ or fact that he is a "Moor"
3.) And, How does Othello (the character) see himself?
The essay is to have a strong thesis. I would like the Thesis to reflect that race was a very prominent theme throughout the play and that harsh and severe references to his skin color/ physical appearance reflected racism (writer is free to further explore something to this degree).
Further instructions focus primarily on a strong thesis and Intro with supporting paragraphs further developing the stated thesis. There is a max of two sources and the Original text ( Othello) to be used as in text citations. I will be emailing support 3 sources (files are too big) that the writer is welcome to use (hopefully at least one of the sources I provide is helpful). If writer will be using other sources I only ask that they be a scholarly journal please. thank you.
Special instructions for quoting Prose and Poetry for Othello. Please utilize act, scene and line(s) as ex. (4.1.120-122)_... in the essay.
