term project will culminate in a consulting report and a 15 minute presentation. report should assess a common green myth; you will conduct research to
determine whether or not the myth is true, false, or plausible. As part of your project you must conduct some sort of analysis in order to critically evaluate the
green myth, and you must utilize the principles of ESEM in your analysis. The recommended methods provided in the table of projects can serve as a start for your
method of analysis. You are not restricted to methods that we have discussed in class; you may propose other approaches. As part of the analysis, you must create at
least two figures, graphs, or tables that show your results.
The length of your consulting report will be determined by the size of your team. Your report should be two pages per team member. (Page length excludes title page,
references cited, and 2 figures.)
This is our topic
You may choose a project from the list provided, or if you choose an off topic project, you must have your topic and method approved by the TA or the Professor before
submitting the final project proposal. Your term project may have two to five team members. For example, if you have four team members, your consulting report eight
pages long.
Use the following general outline for your consultant report:
i) Executive Summary- The green myth and associated problem statement are described. The scope of your analysis and the method used to address the green myth are
summarized. Your findings are summarized. The executive summary is like an abstract. It should be succinct.
ii) The Myth- You should describe the myth and how it relates to your identified client. Depending on how your report flows, you may describe the scope in this section
or in the methods.
iii) Methods- Describe the scope of your analysis and the method that you will use to test or address the green myth. You should clearly state any assumptions, and
clearly describe how you collect data or information. This section should also describe in brief detail any limitations to your method of analysis. The scope can
either be in section ii or iii. Example methods are given in the table of potential projects.
iv) Results and recommendations- Describe the results of your analysis. Is the myth ‘busted’ (or false), true, or plausible? What recommendations can you make to the
client related to the myth? Should they adopt a new strategy based on your findings? Your results should have at least one figure, table, or graph that show the
results of your analysis.
Notes:
You should consider the aesthetic of your document. Use Times New Roman size 11. You should make the final document attractive and draw attention to appropriate parts.
You should consider your client as the audience when formatting your final document.
