Designing an interactive system for users
Design an interactive system for users. This system can be anything user-centered.
In groups of two to three students, design an interactive interface like an e-commerce website, a news site for users with quadriplegia that use an eye tracker, an interface for controlling a
drone using a BCI, etc.
Each group must come up with a distinct project
Create a report formatted to standards (5 pts) that includes the following:
1. Functional Requirements:
a. Describe the website or app fully (150-300 words). (10 pts)
b. Then create an HTA diagram. (20 pts)
2. User requirements: (10 pts)
Describe who are the target audience.
Their characteristics (e.g.: their abilities)
and system use (e.g.: novice, frequent, etc…)
and how will that affect the design
3. Alternative designs (5 pts)
Research websites or apps offering similar services.
List 2 URL and choose one of the websites or app and write two things your website (or app) is doing differently.
B- LOFI (Paper and movie) (50 pts)
Build a prototype.
1. Create a paper prototype that includes the following (35 pts):
a. Number of pages: 8 to 15 pages (3 pts)
b. Every page is hand drawn (some printing is acceptable) (2 pts)
c. Clear navigation (10 pts)
d. Quality of content (including other elements and images) (10 pts)
e. Completeness (5 pts): Pages used give us a complete idea of the website.
Wise use of horizontal and vertical compromises.
f. Creativity (5 pts)
2. Create a movie of the paper prototype (15 pts):
a. The movie needs to be 1 to 2 minutes long (2 pts)
b. Movie’s quality and creativity (sound, effects) (8 pts)
c. Narration is clear and complete (5 pts)
3. Submit the report and your movie or the link to your movie.
