Description

Write the main research paper for the below outline. The report will present the findings of pilot research you proposed and then conducted. You might need to create a simple questionnaire and sample results for the sake of the procedure part.

1) Sample of Qualitative Research Report:

  • Introduction (statement of problem, purpose of study, theoretical perspective, research questions, delimitations, limitations)
  • Procedures (Research strategy, role of the researcher, data collection procedures, data analysis procedures, strategies for ensuring trustworthiness
  • Review of Literature
  • Findings
  • Discussion (Concluding statements, Significance of the study, Lessons learned, Future directions)

Research Topic/Question: How does the experience of cyberbullying impact on psychological
wellbeing? A Case Study of College Students.

  • Research Questions
    i. To find out whether the research participants have experienced instances of
    cyberbullying and to what frequency.
ii. To determine the ways in which cyberbullying is manifested.
iii. To determine the personal responses to cases of cyberbullying.
iv. To establish the impacts of cyberbullying on their psychological wellness.

Methodology:
This study is qualitative in nature as it seeks to gather feelings, attitudes, experiences, and
responses to cases of cyberbullying at a personal level. This study will be in the form of a survey
that focuses on young people as the target population. The sample will, however, involve 23
participants who are young people on the university campus between the ages of 19 and 26.
These participants come from diverse socio-ethnic and economic backgrounds and from both
genders. Data will be collected via a semi-structured questionnaire that will be served through
the means of the internet. In addition to questionnaires, the researcher will make a follow up via
interviews in the participants either through telephone or face-to-face. Interview results will be recorded by audio-tapes and written down notes. The researcher will have the primary role of planning for the study, collecting the data and finally undertaking analysis to reach credible outcomes.

Once the data has been collected, the researcher will engage in a week-long exercise on
reviewing the data and classifying according to different themes. The themes identified in the
study will include; Depression, Low Self-Esteem. Suicidal Behavior and Anxiety Disorder.
Then, the researcher having drawn responses into themes will also summarize into graphs and
tables. For instance, what is the frequency of depressive symptoms among participants who have
experienced cyberbullying? Having done the analysis and summary of the data, the research will
offer a well-reasoned critique in line with other scholarly works. Then, a summary of the core
findings will be drawn and further suggestions/recommendations made.
