You do not have to read Joinville’s “The Life of Saint Louis.” Answer the following question: One of the criticisms modern scholars direct toward Geoffrey of Villehardouin’s “The Conquest of Constantinople” is that it is too impersonal and does not provide a satisfactory depiction of life in the western medieval world. Do you think this is a fair criticism? Why or why not? Use specifics to support your argument.
