Task You being asked to describe and critically analyse the role of a transnational tourism organisation (in this case the World Travel and Tourism Council) and critically evaluate the degree to which it has achieved its stated aims and objectives. Discuss the aims and objectives of your chosen association and the scope, limitations and structure of its membership and its history. Some associations are open to a wide scope of members. For example PATA has members from government and private business and small and large travel firms. Full membership for the UNWTO is limited to government tourism Ministries although associate membership is open to a diversity of travel industry businesses and associations as well as educational institutions.
