The piece will follow a psychologically complex hero on a literal or figurative journey home, and must include at least three significant characters or situations that echo The Odyssey–for example, a story might include a wise and mysterious helper, like Athena, a rowdy group of moochers like the suitors, or an irresistible song, like that of the sirens. Good use of your time during creative writing exercises will allow you to get started during class.
