Conventions and ideas and the concept of double consciousness

This is the essay prompt:
Read excerpts from Ralph Ellison’s Invisible Man and Richard Wright’s “The Man Who Lived Underground.” What conventions and ideas do the two texts share? In what ways do both texts express W.E.B. Dubois’ concept of double consciousness as detailed in The Souls of Black Folks?

Please cite (MLA format) from all three texts to support your argument.

3 – 4 pages, 12 pt type, double-spaced, MLA format. Word or PDF format.

In terms of paragraphs, I’m hoping to have 6-7 of them. The essay has to start right away on the first page after the title and ends on the fourth page. Please present the thesis statement on the first paragraph. Please don’t leave the first-page blank with only a title. The content of the fourth page must be more than half. Works cited can be included below the last paragraph on the fourth page. Each argument needs to be presented with evidence or examples. It also needs to be complemented with an in-depth explanation. Please ensure any information that you include is correct.

I don’t have any title yet, so I leave it to you. I’m a mathematics and statistics major and I don’t know why I have to take African-American literature class.

Please read all the texts and powerpoints before starting to write.
