Research a current event (within one year) in the news where a policy or procedure was violated. This event does not have to be health care related. Preferably, an event within Canada (discuss with instructor if an event outside of Canada is permissible).
In an essay discuss the following items:
- Introduce the policy and how it was violated.
- Who was affected by this policy violation? How were they affected?
- Was there any changes made to the existing policy? If so, what were they? If not, what would you propose as the change?
- Summarize the importance of having a clear policy and procedure, based on what you learned from this project.
- How will this knowledge (regarding policies & procedures) affect you as a future Health Administrative Assistant?
