Conflict Management
Identify a conflict that exists within their own organization or an organization with which the student is familiar. Students will draft a conflict management plan that demonstrates the use of systems-thinking in terms of training, diversity, team/task force management, and coaching. The following aspects should be addressed: 1) The root cause of the conflict; 2) the symptoms of the conflict; 3) anything that has been done to resolve the conflict. Students will analyze the conflict and address the following in their analysis: 1) Develop a strategy to resolve the conflict, including specific steps and time frame for accomplishment of those steps; 2) barriers to overcome; 3) how results will be measured; and 4) steps to be taken if the proposed solution does not work.
