In the first part of your paper, explain the perspectives presented in the texts in the form of an argument, i.e., what are their theses and what supporting claims do they provide for them? Then, respond to these arguments with an argument of your own: do you agree or disagree (or both) with these perspectives, and why or why not? In detailing the reasons for your own argument, you should be making reference to any relevant chapters we have covered from Shannon Dea’s Beyond the Binary with appropriate citations. All arguments (what they say and what you say) should be covered in detail and devoted roughly equal portions of your paper.
