1. Signs of Burnout and Agency Practices
During my field placement this semester, I observed potential signs of burnout in some of my colleagues.
- Emotional Exhaustion: Some staff members appeared increasingly irritable and disengaged, exhibiting a lack of empathy and a tendency to distance themselves from patients and colleagues.
- Cynicism and Detachment: I observed a growing sense of cynicism amongst some staff members, with frequent complaints about the workload, administrative burdens, and perceived lack of support from the organization.
