Use Brian’s case study to develop a role play. You will take on the role of the case manager and you will need to find someone to play the part of Brian. The aim of the role play will be to review the current case management plan (as per previous assessment), assess the need for changes, successfully negotiation with relevant parties any proposed changes and develop alternative strategies/new case management plan.
The demonstration or observation must involve:
1. establishing the purpose and agenda of the meeting
2. presenting and discussing relevant client information and issues
3. use of effective communication skills
4. the impact of legislative and statutory requirements on the client, agency and significant others as well as the roles, rights and responsibilities of those present
5. gaining agreement about future action
6. summarising, closing the meeting
