  9. Aims
    This module aims to provide the opportunity to develop projects, inquiries and/or other
    work-based activities that are designed to improve or inform areas of your own or
    others’ work/practice.
    This module enables the Quantity Surveyor/ Commercial Manager to conduct a
    programme of research and to further develop understanding and skills in managing
    research data and site information to inform his/her management practice. This large
    project is also the vehicle to demonstrate a holistic approach to incorporating all the
    knowledge gained so far as well as client care, communication and negotiation skills
    across the team and with all stakeholders. Explicit evidence of managing a Quantity
    Surveying/ Commercial Management project within health and safety and
    sustainability requirements will be gathered during this project.

    On completion of this module you will be able to:
  11. Identify and critique Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management
    perspectives, ethical principles and research knowledge applicable to your
    work/practice context and demonstrate how they apply to the work/practice of
    yourself and others (KU1, KU 2);
  12. Critically reflect on how you have managed the engagement and involvement
    of other construction practitioners and how this has contributed to theenhancement of your work/practice (CS1,
    CS2);
  13. Give a rationale for your choice of methods of inquiry that have informed
    creative approaches to action planning/problem solving, contextualising your
    choices (CS 3);

  15. Demonstrate coherent and organised communication, interpersonal and
    networking skills when managing your Project teams and sharing information
    with the work team and academic audiences (PS2, PS 3);
  16. Demonstrate the ability to lead and take responsibility for future professional
    development using the learning from the project process. (PES 1, PES 2).
