Civic scorecard
The Civic Scorecard is a tool to guide students, professors, and the Miami community through diverse action
items to grow and strengthen their vital participation in the civic life of our community. There are five main
categories of activity on the Scorecard: 1) Democracy and Advocacy; 2) Environment and Sustainability; 3)
Community and Well-being; 4) Arts and Culture, and 5) Social Innovation.
Please upload the assignments below as one PDF document. For most of the activities, unless otherwise
noted in class, you need to write a 200-word reflection on the ethical or social significance of the civic
scorecard activity.

You can also do up to 50 more points for extra credit. For each 10 points of extra credit from the Scorecard,
one percentage point will be added to your final grade for the course. Besides gaining points for the class,
through the work on this scorecard, you can also work towards an award recognized by iCED and Miami Dade
College. This work plan is to facilitate your work should you be doing extra credit. A word copy of the
worksheet can also be downloaded below.
