(discusses the subfield, includes a solid thesis statement, and outlines the main topic you plan to cover during this course)
Subfield Analysis (a brief history of your chosen subfield (people, research, discoveries …) and a discussion of two or more other subfields that also be relevant to your subfield or topic, and examples of research related to your subfield and topic)
Psychological Research (briefly discuss the importance of the scientific method in research, develop a research question for your topic (this is composed as an actual question), and discuss your chosen representative sources and why they seem credible and applicable to your research goals)
Conclusion (briefly note your thesis (one sentence should do it) and tie all of the above into a concise summary of your research goals. Discuss possible future research related to your research question, but which you will not be exploring in this course)
Prompt: Identify your subfield of interest and explain its relation to your academic and professional goals and to the larger field of psychology. Construct a thesis statement that will inform the reader of the purpose of the investigation.
Specifically the following critical elements must be addressed:
Introduction:
A. Select a subfield of psychology that you are interested in further investigating, explaining how the subfield relates to the larger field of psychology.
Support your explanation with scholarly sources.
B. Construct a clear, well-developed thesis statement that explains the purpose of the investigation.
C. Provide a brief outline of the upcoming topics that will be covered in your investigation to set the stage for the reader.
Guidelines for Submission: Your introduction must be submitted as a 1–2-page Microsoft Word document with double spacing, 12-point Times New Roman font, one-inch margins, and at least one source cited in APA format.
