Current Rx Long acting bronchodilator + inhaled corticosteroid, short acting

Family Histroy Mother and father still alive – divorced. Mother had asthma. Father had prostate cancer (in remission). 2 brothers – both well.
Social history Born in NZ. Currently in a long term relationship with Tony – 2 years. Live together. No children. Tony has a dog. Currently studying nursing (2nd yr). Family of origin all live in NZ – Ngaire moved to Perth as Tony’s work transferred him here. Often has to take time off her studies due to asthma exacerbations. Many friends and supports. Enjoys going to the beach with friends, going to movies and music festivals
Occ History Current working as a waitress in a restaurant while studying nursing.

Physical Activity Usually goes to the gym most days unless her asthma is very bad.
Gets exercise induced asthma.

This presentation has to be formulated based on the case and the letter for the primary health care nurses that are attached along with the instruction.
you work for a specialist behavioural change clinic. The clinic is trying to promote the benefits of non-medical behavioural change interventions to an audience of health professionals. You are tasked with creating and designing a behavioural change intervention for your case study patient and then presenting this at a well-respected medical or nursing conference.
Based on the attached case study , choose what case study patient behaviours you will target and whether you will attempt to get the patient to cease a health-reducing behaviours or whether you will attempt to get the patient to begin a health-enhancing behaviours or a combination of both.
In designing the behavioural change intervention for the case study patient, you must focus on what nurses can do within their scope of practice. Nurses are the health professionals most involved in patient care and have the most contact with patients, so it is important that you focus on behavioural change interventions which can be implemented and led by nurses themselves.
When devising the behavioural change intervention, try not to outsource or refer all tasks or activities to other health professionals as much as possible. For example, it is perfectly ok to show multidisciplinary involvement (e.g., referrals to psychologists or other health professionals), but the main focus should be on how nurses can effect behavioural change by influencing the physical and social environment for the patient, minimising risks, and improving the health outcomes/experiences of patients.
As well as presenting your ideas you will also need to outline the benefits of your behavioural change intervention and why it’s better than other interventions which only use the biomedical or pharmacological model. Remember, you’re trying to convince your audience of health professionals to adopt your approach.
The outline for power point presentation
It has to be 10 slides.
Use 10 articles used have to be peer reviewed articles, related to the case, no older than 8 years. You can use text books if required .
The design has to be attractive. Use related picture, graphics that are related to the case study presentation. They must be self-explanatory, concise, and referenced if you have taken the information from another source. Your main points need to be supported by relevant and accurate information (i.e., credible examples, evidence, references, and sources) and flow in logical order.

*You’ll need to provide a summary of the case study patient so that your audience gets a mental picture of your patient.
Second , third and fourth slide:-You’ll need to give the audience a clear idea and outline of what your presentation is about so that they can follow along with you.
-Third, fourth slide :-Specification of the target behavioural issues that will be addressed by the proposed behavioural change intervention, possible implications if behaviour change is not managed systematically.
What are the specific target behaviours you are trying to address and change for your patient?
Are you trying to get the patient to cease a health-reducing behaviour or begin a health-enhancing behaviour? Or combination of both strategy.
Why did you choose these particular behaviours to target particularly in relation to behavioural principles and theory?
What might happen for the patient if we fail to address these behaviours?
Fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth slide:- Description of the behavioural change intervention and a step-by-step outline of how the behavioural intervention strategies will be put into action and led by nurses, including roles of treatment provider/s (i.e., primarily nurses but includes other health professionals if indicated) with a clear rationale and evidence base presented in support of the proposed behavioural intervention.
Tell us in detail how nurses will implement and lead these behavioural change interventions
How will they implement it, when will they implement it, where will they implement it, how the intervention directly addresses the function of the target behaviours etc. If you are focusing on ceasing health reducing behaviours, then your intervention should be focussed on how nurses can ultimately prevent the behaviours from occurring in the first place, not just intervening when or after the behaviours happen.
When presenting the rationale and evidence base for your proposed behavioural intervention you’ll need to discuss why you think the patient should try your intervention. E.g. why is it better than the current medical/pharmacological intervention(s) the patient is receiving? What makes your intervention better than other interventions described in the research literature?
Ninth:-Description of proposed clinical audit/outcomes monitoring processes that will track the implementation and efficacy of the behavioural change intervention. Description of how these processes will demonstrate that the behavioural change has been caused by the team’s intervention and not something else.
How will you know whether your behavioural intervention is actually working for your particular patient?
What sort of things would you want to measure to get clear evidence of the efficacy of your intervention?
Tenth : Final closing slide outlining the key points you want your audience to take away from your presentation.
