caregivers

caregivers   Order Description assignment should be approximately 3–4 typed pages long, double-spaced, in a 12-point font, with one-inch margins on all sides. Spelling and grammar will count in the evaluation of this assignment. Description: Although women are far more likely to care for an ill spouse, husbands are caregivers for their wives as well. In this assignment, you will consider how the caregiving role and experience for husbands may differ from that for wives. There are three parts to this assignment: 1. The predominance of women as family caregivers of frail elderly should not mask the contributions of men. Male caregivers are most often older husbands caring for their wives. What differences would you predict between older women caring for their husbands and older men caring for their wives? Consider the meaning of care, changes in a couple's daily life, changes in their relationship, and sources of both burden and satisfaction. 2. Drawing on your answer above, how do you think the cohort of the couple influences the type of caregiver a husband can be? How does cohort affect the impact caregiving has on the husband himself and on the marital relationship? 3. Do you think that the incidence of husbands caregiving will increase or decrease in the future? Why?
