Digital transformation is more than digitization. The work of Bharadwaj et al (2013) on Digital Business Strategy gives some characteristics for digital business strategies (Scope, Scale, Speed of Decision Management, Source of Value Creation) based on things like: Moving away from silo thinking, digitization of products and services and related information, global supply chain, network effects through multi-sided platforms, partnerships, etc.). Also consider dependencies/co-operations with other companies in a value network approach (multi-sided businesses, integrated supply chain).
