Introduction
Background Info: This story depicts a half South African and European boy, named Trevor Noah, who was
brought into the world by his parents in a time of danger with having a spouse of a different race. Knowing this,
the story portrays his life growing up as a crime as well as how life was seen through his lens and what he has
learned about the people in this developing time.
Thesis: Noah was able to implement his own personal experiences being “born as a crime” into valuable life
lessons and effectively does this through the use of pathos, plot development, counterpoints, and ethos to
create a new perspective of racism along with moral values.
Body
A: Strategy 1: Uses ethos to create a perspective of mom working hard to not only raise their child whose was
a “crime” but working hard to prove equality among races and make the best for her kid
