Book Review

This is a book review over the book United States Special Operations Forces by Christopher
Lamb.
The book review is not a chapter by chapter synopsis. The book review is done to inform a
neophyte about a subject, and about the worthiness of applying their time to actually reading the
book. It should not tell them everything, but give them enough information to discern if this is
worth their time and will give them knowledge or perspective they did not have previously.
Simply put: if done correctly, I will read, or not read a book, based on a good review. To do that,
the review will have four (4) sections: Strengths, Weaknesses, Importance and
Recommendations.
Strengths should do what it says, highlight the strengths of the book (in your opinion). Three
should be sufficient.
Weaknesses are just as simple. What did you not like about the book? Again, three examples
should be enough.
Importance will explain if you believe that the content is “important” to the subject matter you
are currently studying. Does the book create a better understanding of the subject?
Recommendation is simply your opinion about the book, as to whether you either believe or don’t
