BLACK LIVES MATTER
Keith Lamont Scott, a black male, was fatally shot by a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Officer in September 2016; it wasn’t clear at the time as to whether Scott was armed. Nevertheless, protests soon followed and tumed into rioting. The country had seen the rise of Black Lives Matter as a social movement in the wake of the shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, as well as numerous protests following the police-related deaths of other black males. In the wake of the rioting in Charlotte, the debate about the role of Black Lives Matter continues. In the attached document, you will find two opposing viewpoints, both about the rioting in Charlotte and Black Lives Matter.
For each viewpoint:

- What are the viewpoint’s weaknesses? Be sure to provide explanation of HOW the things you identify are strengths and weaknesses.
