Benefits of the IT Strategy to use a SaaS solution

List two benefits of the IT Strategy to use a SaaS solution to support the hiring process
According to what we learned, a SaaS solution has several advantages. One that instantly struck out to me was compiling all data into a single piece of software. Everything is there as long as someone learns the program and understands the data (Dziembek, 2020). In addition, many of the hardware, software, and databases in a SaaS system include “hot backup” capabilities. All data is backed up in a new location if a system fails. It is pretty beneficial.

  1. Identify three things the CIO and his team should look for as they consider which SaaS vendor to select. Explain what they are and why they are important to MTC’s business
MTC’s CIO and his team should think about SaaS security. It is significant for the company since it safeguards all applicant data for future and present applications. Candidates for MTC may be jeopardized if their identities are exposed to the public. The IT team should also consider the system’s ability to be maintained. To accommodate this demand, changes in the system and how quickly upgrades may be introduced are required. Keeping track of who has applied and who has been chosen for prospective contracts is a primary priority for MTC, which places a high value on the database’s maintainability (Oliveira et al., 2019). Finally, the CIO should consider all expenses related to software customization. Maintenance and testing expenditures for these advancements must be factored in overtime. The demand for the chosen technology develops in tandem with the growth of MTC. Because some components of the SaaS solution may be unnecessary for the firm, IT must be involved in and control the alterations.
    3) Explain what you think is MTC’s biggest risk in outsourcing this IT function, why you selected that risk, and what MTC’s IT department’s key responsibilities are to minimize risk and protect the business as they select and use a SaaS solution.
Security, in my opinion, is the most significant risk MTC may face while outsourcing its IT solution. MTC, a consultant technology organization, must be secure to protect its assets in the fast-changing world of technology. One method MTC’s IT department may reduce this risk is implementing access control groups that only permit specific business members to edit, inspect, and add to the apps already on file (Chris Kraft et al., 2018). Data loss or inadvertent destruction may occur if everyone had access to this ability, resulting in frustration and possibly denying an employment opportunity. Any SaaS solution MTC chooses, stakeholders must decide which feature is most important or which combination of criteria best meets the business, considering any particular needs, such as data security, specific functionality that must be offered, and cost control.

Good job adding to the week’s discussion. SaaS provides an intriguing alternative to standard software installation in the business environment (traditional model), where you have to build the server, install the application, and configure it. Instead, the applications reside on a remote cloud network accessed through the web or an application programming interface (API), and it works like a rental. You and your organization have the authorization to use the software for some time or pay for the software outright (“Top 5 advantages of Software as a Service (SaaS),” 2020).
There are advantages to using SaaS as an IT solution. Paying for Software as a service (SaaS) reduces the time it takes creating and implementing your own IT solution. This reduces the time spent on installation and configuration and can reduce the issues that get in the way of the software deployment. This decision will benefit your organization in the long run.
Lower costs of using a SaaS as an IT solution can provide beneficial cost savings since it usually resides in a shared or multi-tenant environment, where the hardware and software license costs are low compared with the traditional model. Another advantage is that you can rapidly scale your customer base since SaaS allows small and medium businesses to use software that otherwise they would not use due to the high cost of licensing. Maintenance costs are also reduced since the SaaS provider owns the environment, and it is split among all customers that use that solution.

I think you did an amazing job on this course’s last discussion post. Last week’s readings mentioned many benefits of using an SaaS including the added security they provide in comparison to individual organizations and the “hot backup” that you mentioned in your post (UMGC, n.d). Another huge benefit that I noticed is the cost savings they provide. Using an SaaS system that is paid for monthly like a subscription but is already built and established can be a huge benefit for smaller companies that need the program immediately and cannot afford for a custom one to be built for them. Security in MTC’s SaaS should be top priority. The hiring system we are trying to provide would hold all candidate applications and all employee information. The security of this information should be number one when looking for the SaaS that fits them best. I also agree that expenses and maintainability should be at the top of the list of things MTC needs to look for. Security is a big issue and is probably MTC’s biggest risk. In my opinion, the cost is a big risk as well. MTC is going to be making a monthly “subscription” payment to be able to use this program. I fear they are going to settle on features that are important to many members of MTC if they choose to go this route. They may save money upfront, but over time the cost of this program is going to exceed the cost of building the program from scratch that meets all of their needs.
